Elevate your devotion with our 18K Solid Yellow Gold Saint Benedict Medal 21 mm, which also happens to be our heaviest Saint Benedict medal (6.60 grams). This exceptional piece showcases the finely crafted image of Saint Benedict on the front, while the reverse side features an authentic 1880 Jubilee-design cross. Measuring 0.83 inches (21 mm) in diameter, this substantial medal is designed for daily wear and is particularly suitable for men. The presence of the Italian 750 stamp assures you of its Hypoallergenic 18K gold purity.

Saint Benedict's medal holds a special place in the realm of sacred medallions. It gained approval in 1880 during the 1,400-year commemoration of the establishment of the Benedictine Order. This double-sided medal is replete with symbolism and meaning. At the feet of Saint Benedict, you'll find a chalice and a raven, symbols harking back to Benedict's miraculous protection from poison. Encircling the medal's periphery, you'll encounter the Latin inscription "ejus in obitu nostro praesentia muniamur," signifying "may we be fortified by his presence at our death."

Flipping the medal to its reverse side, you'll discover a collection of potent prayers encoded as initials for easy memorization. Among these, "CSSML" stands for "crux sacra sit mihi lux," translating to "the holy cross be my light," while "NDSMD" represents "non draco sit mihi dux," meaning "let not the dragon be my guide." Encircling the edges, you'll find letters that signify these Latin mottos: "VRSNSMV—SMQLIVB," "vade retro satana," and "numquam suade mihi vana! sunt mala quae libas. ipse venena bibas," which convey the powerful message, "Begone, Satan! Never tempt me with your vanities! What you offer me is evil. Drink the poison yourself!" Positioned at the top is typically a symbol of "pax," representing peace.

If you possess a Saint Benedict's medal and seek a proper blessing, you can always pay a visit to a Benedictine priest who will perform the blessing for you.
